Vertical autoclaves are also known as top loading sterilizers that come in cylindrical shape. These are widely used in hospitals, microbiology laboratories, clinics and food and beverage industry.

The vertical design ensures maximum space utilization as they provide guarantee of safe and effective sterilization even in confined spaces. We make various types of vertical autoclave machines as per budget and intended use. Our models are usually double walled vertical autoclaves which have a stainless steel interior and exterior while the Triple Walled models have another chamber and all three walls are made of thick gauge of stainless steel sheets. We also customise the model to the users requirements.

• All contact parts are made of SS 316 and non-contact parts are made of SS 304.
• Radial locking lid ensures user safety and safe locking.

• The working of a vertical autoclave is based on high pressure steam used to kill harmful bacteria, viruses, fungi, and spores on items that are placed inside the pressure vessel.
• The primary function of top loading or vertical autoclaves is to generate steam for creating pressure and building up heat.
• The items are heated to an appropriate sterilization temperature for a given amount of time.
• The moisture in the steam efficiently transfers heat to the items to destroy the protein structure of the bacteria and spores.

Horizontal Autoclave

In order to meet large capacity sterilization needs, Gem Pharma brings to you a comprehensive range of horizontal autoclaves. These horizontal autoclaves are front loading in design, big in size and designed in cylindrical or rectangular shapes. These high pressure front loading autoclaves play important role in sterilization procedures required in academic facilities, biotech industries, pharmaceutical industries, hospitals, research centres and food and beverage industries.

Gem Pharma offers custom engineered machines with a complete choice of useful accessories. A horizontal autoclave comprises of a sterilization chamber, boiler, piping and fitting, sensors and control panel; all parts and components are jointed and fitted on a stand; this makes a complete floor mounted unit.

Our horizontal autoclave units are made of stainless steel to ensure corrosion resistance surface. Tipple walled construction ensures excellent level of safety. Boiler is fitted separately and connected to the chamber. Water level indicator is also attached to the boiler. We mandatorily provide an automatic low water cut-off to ensure complete safety. Additionally, the unit is supplied with a vacuum breaker, water level indicator, steam trap and automatic pressure control switch. User can easily set the desired temperature with the help of digital controller fitted on the front side of the unit.

• The working of a horizontal autoclave is based on high pressure steam used to kill harmful bacteria, viruses, fungi, and spores on items that are placed inside the pressure vessel.
• Add sufficient level of water for steam generation in the water storage tank and make sure that the chamber is clean.
• Place the items to be sterilized in the inner chamber.
• Monitor change in temperature and pressure till desired levels have been achieved. Release steam/pressure if necessary
• Turn-off power once the process is complete and release the steam/pressure using the release valve. Carefully remove the sterilized products.

Rubber Stoppers (Bungs) are mainly used in stoppering vials and it is necessary to sterilize these as they are in direct contact with the product. Though the trend of using pre-sterilized bungs from the market is still prevalent, their viability is still a question, owing to the various handling & transportation issues leading to questions on sterility.

Gem Pharma’s Bung Processor and Sterilizer enables customers to reap benefits of ‘twin processes’ from single machine. They clean and sterilise the bungs in one cycle. Apart from bungs, these machines can be used to sterilise containers, vessels, linen, rubber articles, glassware and surgical equipment.

Keeping ease of operation in view, Gem Pharma has designed a unique drum that has the capability for auto unloading of the bungs, which eliminates the intermediate handling of bungs. Also, with Gem Pharma’s expertise you can opt for special features like Preservative & Hot Air treatment with HEPA Filters for enhanced results.
• A unique Triple Punch Cleaning system is implemented to ensure thorough cleaning and sterilization of the closures. 
• The closure processor is fitted with a Clean in Place (CIP) system for washing the chamber and the rotating carriage to prevent the released dirt from being carried over from one phase to the subsequent phase.
• Friction drives to prevent direct metal to metal contact for superior processing.
• Sampling ports for online monitoring of the cleaning efficiency.
• Temperature and pressure ports for monitoring and validating the sterilization process.
• The Rotating Carriage ensures smooth and easy loading and unloading of closures.
• The design of the basket guarantees effective cleaning and sterilization of elastomeric closures.
• After complete processing the stoppers are unloaded in the sterile area under a fixed laminar flow unit without operator intervention in pre-sterilized containers or bags.
• The bungs are loaded into a drum and later placed into the sterilizer.
• The entire operation is done via PLC wherein the pre-set program determines the wash sequence (E.g. Detergent Wash, WFI Wash & Silicon Treatment) followed by a final sterilization using HPHV cycle. This ensures complete sterility.
• These bungs can later be unloaded in sterile pouches/bags and transferred to the filling room, usually under laminar air flow conditions.
