Superheated Water Spray Sterlizer
Gem Pharma’s Superheated Water Spray Sterilizers (SHWSS) are able to perform counterpressure sterilization of large volume parenteral solutions. Based on the principle of moist-heat sterilization under counter pressure, SHWSS are designed to meet terminal sterilization requirements in pharmaceutical industry. Gem Pharma’s SHWSS are suitable for treating loads in containers that may be deformed due to the difference in pressure between the chamber and the container itself.
These Superheated Sterilizers are fitted with water recirculation through sanitary pump and spray system to heat up and cool down the products to be sterilized. These units are ideal for infusion products, blister packed products, PVC multi-layer pouches and large volumes of liquids sealed in glass or plastic containers.
Where the product is liable to separation or for accelerating thermal transition phases, the whole load can be rotated during the entire sterilization process. Each unit has circular inner chamber and rectangular door. These units feature fully automatic control system; touch screen control panel and thermal printer enabling users to operate the machine in very convenient way.

Process Description
- Circulation Water (DM) is filled inside the chamber then it is drawn with help of centrifugal pump & heated with external heat exchanger. The water is then showered on the load through proper distribution system inside the chamber. Sterilization up to pre-set temperature level & time.
- Cooling is done by supplying water to heat exchanger thus indirectly cooling circulation water.
- Air counter pressure is maintained throughout the process to prevent damage to product container.
